Simple Steps to Clearing Out the Clutter
Our life is full, full to the point where we nearly explode. Our days are consumed from the moment we wake up till the moment our tired bodies flop into bed. We work too much, sleep too little and are generally feeding our bodies with crap.
Our lives are filled with stress, anger and lack of patience. Our lives are connected by phones, computers and iPads. Our heads are down missing opportunities, moments and more.
Our kids are growing up in the blink of an eye, divorce rates are sky rocketing, depression is the norm and we’re competing over crap. Today’s lives are anything but simple. We’re consumed, competitive and busy. We’re missing simplicity.. we’re missing the calm that our bodies are craving. We’re missing peace.
It’s time to break the cycle. It’s time to lead by example for our kids. It’s time to change the direction of the future. It’s time to simplify our life.
Why is this important?? One you’ll feel better, two a weight will be lifted off your shoulders, three the pressure will be gone and you’ll feel refreshed, motivated and inspired. Inspired to live a whole, happy life. A life full of love, kindness and gratitude. No pressure just contentment.
My 7 Easy Steps to Simplifying Your Life
1. Get amongst Nature
There’s just something about nature that makes our hearts sing. The beach, the snow, the mountains they all effect us in some way. It grounds us, it re-aligns our energies and inspires us. The clean crisp air, the warmth of the sun upon our faces, the coldness of winter, all of it touches us in some way. Connecting us to this wonderful life we live. Sometimes you only need a moment. Take the moment, it’s always worth it.
2. Meditate
I know I harp on about this but this seriously changed my life. We all need the quiet. We need room to breathe, a time to reflect and centre our soul. We need the solitude sometimes to find ourselves again. To find some direction and realise what really does matter in our lives. Meditate teaches you a lot of things but for me it’s mostly been gratitude and patience. It’s calmed my mind, I’m not so much a yesterday person now, I ask more question and am more engage in conversation. I think we all need a little in directions in our lives from time to time.
3. Food
Food is a big trigger for us all. We’re all are intolerate to something in someway. It’s a touchy subject. Everyone’s opinionated about it. But you have to do what works for you. You need to eat what makes you and your body happy. Some people can live on junk food and have no effect, whereas others need to only eat clean, healthy food to fuel their bodies appropriately. At the end of the day it’s your choice how you treat your body, only you know what it needs. Mindful eating is the future. We’re converting back to growing our own, organic clean food. Our bodies are consumed with toxins. You owe it too yourself to at least try to make a difference. Small steps is always better than no steps.
4. Exercise
Our bodies are designed to move. We have limbs that are meant to move. Movement is the key to a healthy body. It never needs to be intense but it simply needs to move. No one cares what you do but just simply do something.. Walk, run, swim, salsa dance, learn a new sport, anything at all, just do it. Sweat daily, get your lungs working and flush the crap out of you. Exercise creates an opportunity to slow down and quiet your mind. It’s a chance to reflect and release the day that was. An opportunity to create a positive mindset for the day. It’s an opportunity to get distracted from the digital world. Once again you owe it to yourself. You have one life, why not try to live it as long as possible.
5. Find a passion.
Find something that ignites your soul. Something that makes you get out of bed in the morning. Something that gives you a new lease on life. That’s what you want in life, a life full of passion, a life that’s been lived. I get it, things cost money, life gets busy but no ones wants to just exist. We want purpose, we want to be loved and love, we want direction and we want to slide in side ways to our graves. We want to have lived and lived hard.
6. Slow down
Read a book, stop and smell the roses, breathe a little. Our lives are constantly go, go, go but eventually something gonna give. Our health is normally the first thing unfortunately. Take the time to care for your body, give yourself some self love because whatever it is that’s so important often can wait till tomorrow. I often ask myself… ‘will this matter in 5 years time?’ the answer normally is no. Don’t sweat the small stuff….
7. Declutter your life
I’ve written about this before but decluttering your life can honestly change your life. Whether it material possessions, relationships, your mind or work, you need to remove all negativity as best you can. Clear out anything that doesn’t serve you, anything that doesn’t make your soul shine. Anything that doesn’t make you happy. So take a look at my below post and clear out the crap. Clear out everything you can, you’ll thank me for it later.
I hope this helps you in some way. As I’ve mentioned before this I still only my view. MY way of living simply. I hope it gives you a little direction with this crazy thing we call life.
Thanks for reading! Keep shining bright beautiful souls!!
