Street Style
Street style and street art go hand in hand, don’t they?!? It’s every fashion bloggers and photographers dream, the perfect back drop, the shadow work, well I’m no different!
I have a real appreciation for street art, obviously being an artist on and off throughout my life you can appreciate the time and detail that goes into a piece. They are of a massive scale, any areas that aren’t aligned stand out like a sore thumb and that personally makes me nervous. The time and patience is seriously next level, something I don’t have and street art is hard! I take my hat off to them, they really are a breed of their own. The closest I’ve ever got to painting a mural was when my children were born I thought it would be a fabulous idea to welcome them home with a themed mural wall in their nursery. What was I thinking?!?! That’s nesting for you! It took me months, I’d lost my mojo, I got bored, changed my mind, certainly not something I’ll ever do again but they were thankful as they aged. They still talk about it now.
So I was super delighted to stumble across this beautiful Mimby Jones Robinson art piece near my local area. So much colour, power and visual stimulation, it was simply breathtaking. Adelaide has certainly taken it’s street art up a notch. We had the delightful Wonderwalls Festival recently at Port Adelaide which was a huge hit. I thoroughly enjoyed wandering the streets with the kidlets watching their expressions as they discovered them all. There’s so much to see around Adelaide now, they have street art tours, Instagram and Facebook pages, Cafes with walls plastered, it’s every bloggers perfect picture. So next time you power past a street art mural take a moment, appreciate it’s beauty and realise just how much time and energy was placed into the mural. As we all know it’s the details that count.
It’s been one of my favourite shoots, all the colour, the outfit, the photographer, it’s a true representation of myself…. Art, fashion and freedom….
